Jerry Nadler, currently serving as a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 12th district, has made several statements addressing local revitalization efforts and national issues. These statements, posted on Twitter, reflect ongoing developments and opinions in the lawmaker’s field of interest.

On April 12, 2025, Nadler celebrated a significant milestone for New York City’s Upper West Side, where a “not for profit” group acquired the historic Metro Theater, closed for two decades, located on Broadway & West 99th Street. Nadler expressed hope for the area, stating that it will be revitalized and “turn it into a five-screen cinema, education center.”

On the topic of immigration policy, Nadler criticized the Trump Administration in a post dated April 14, 2025. He called it “preposterous” that the administration claimed incapability in “bring[ing] back someone who they wrongfully deported.” He referenced a unanimous Supreme Court ruling mandating the individual’s release, urging the administration to act promptly.

A third post on April 15, 2025, was a simple link to an undisclosed webpage, lacking additional commentary. The tweet can be viewed here.

Jerry Nadler has a long political career, having represented New York’s 12th District since 1992. Prior to this position, he served in the New York State Assembly between 1977 and 1992. Nadler was born in 1947 and holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University.
