Mayor Carmella R. Mantello announced on May 15 the official opening of the Troy Marina for the 2026 season, signaling the start of summer activity along the city’s waterfront.

The announcement highlights ongoing investment in Troy’s riverfront and its importance to tourism, recreation, economic development, and local business activity. The marina is described as a gateway to downtown Troy that welcomes recreational boaters and visitors from around the world during the summer months.

“The opening of the Troy Marina is always one of the most exciting days of the year because it signals the arrival of summer in our city,” Mayor Mantello said. “Our waterfront is one of Troy’s greatest assets, and continuing to invest in and activate our riverfront remains a major priority for my administration. The Hudson River has always been central to Troy’s identity, and today it continues to strengthen our economy, support local businesses, and enhance quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”

Mantello noted that marina visitors contribute directly to local restaurants, retail shops, entertainment venues, and small businesses throughout Troy. “When boaters arrive at the Troy Marina, they are not just docking at a marina – they are experiencing our city,” she said. “They walk our streets, dine in our restaurants, shop in our stores, and discover everything that makes Troy such a vibrant and welcoming community.” She also recognized several city departments and employees involved in preparing and maintaining the marina each season.

The mayor thanked community partners including Chris Ryan from Ryan’s Wake; Garry Brown from Brown’s Brewing Company; Olivia Clemente from Downtown Troy Business Improvement District; as well as Deputy Mayor Seamus Donnelly; Commissioner Joe Mazzariello; Parks Supervisor Kevin Graber; Quality-of-Life Action Crews; Dockmaster Tom Miter; and all marina staff.

Mantello highlighted continued collaboration with American Cruise Lines as part of making Troy an official Hudson River port-of-call destination for a second full season. Last year saw 17 cruise ship visits between Manhattan and Troy with more than 100 passengers per visit expected again this year. “These cruise visits continue to position Troy as a premier destination along the Hudson River,” Mantello said.

Eric Dussault, Director of Port Development for American Cruise Lines added: “We are excited to continue our partnership with City of Troy as a featured port-of-call along Hudson River…Troy has become a highlight destination on our Hudson River itineraries.”

Concluding her remarks about future prospects for waterfront revitalization efforts tied closely with seasonal activities at the marina itself: “The momentum happening along our waterfront is exciting…we look forward to another incredible summer season on Hudson River,” Mantello said.
