MACNY, The Manufacturers Association, announced on May 14 key leadership appointments for the Manufacturers Talent Institute (MTI), its talent development engine focused on connecting talent with industry-driven training to build a skilled workforce and strong career pathways.
The MTI Board of Directors appointed Michael Frame as Executive Director and Amy Stage as Deputy Director. The establishment of the MTI and its inaugural leadership team reflects an effort to prepare the next generation of skilled talent for manufacturing careers and scale workforce development models to meet evolving needs.
Frame will serve as MTI Executive Director while continuing in his role as Executive Vice President of MACNY. He will lead MTI’s strategic direction, oversee program expansion, and guide efforts to grow talent development initiatives across New York State and beyond. Frame has over 20 years of experience in public education and non-profit leadership, previously serving at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Florida State University, the State University of New York, and Binghamton University. He holds degrees from Cayuga Community College, Cornell University, and Syracuse University.
Stage will serve as Deputy Director while also acting as MACNY’s Director of Registered Apprenticeship. She is recognized for her work advancing apprenticeship programs and employer-driven talent initiatives throughout New York State. Prior to joining MACNY, she held leadership roles at CNY Works Inc., where she managed workforce programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
MTI was created to expand MACNY’s workforce development models such as early career exploration through Partners for Education & Business Inc., direct-entry pre-apprenticeships like Real Life Rosies and Advance 2 Apprenticeship, along with Registered Apprenticeship programs. These efforts are aimed at building a unified framework that supports American manufacturing by growing a community of skilled workers.
“The appointment of Michael Frame as Executive Director and Amy Stage as Deputy Director marks an important step in strengthening MTI’s leadership as we scale our talent development efforts,” said Randy Wolken, MTI Chairman and MACNY President & CEO. “Their combined experience, vision, and deep commitment to manufacturing workforce development will ensure MTI continues to expand opportunity, support employers, and build the skilled talent pipeline manufacturers need to compete and grow.”
