Congressman Nick Langworthy released a statement on June 3 regarding a violent stabbing that occurred in Cattaraugus County on May 29, which involved illegal immigrants. Langworthy said, “The violent stabbing that took place in Cattaraugus County on May 29th involving illegal immigrants is a textbook example of why it’s imperative that there is cooperation between local and federal law enforcement. Thanks to the extreme professionalism and dedication of Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s office and Buffalo ICE, they worked together to uncover additional violations and get this violent offender off our streets and into federal custody.”
Langworthy continued, “While our men and women in law enforcement are putting their lives on the line to protect public safety, Washington Democrats and Governor Hochul are doing everything in their power to defund immigration enforcement, shield dangerous illegals, and tie the hands of law enforcement. Their radical policies are putting everyone’s safety at risk, and that is why we will be voting on a reconciliation bill that will fully fund immigration enforcement.”
Langworthy represents New York’s 23rd Congressional District. He won election to the U.S. House for this district in 2022. He was raised in Jamestown, New York, attended Pine Valley Central School there, is married to Erin with whom he has two children, and draws on his family roots in his public service. Langworthy emphasizes constituent service as well as resource allocation for communities within his district.
In addition to addressing local incidents such as the recent stabbing case, Langworthy has played a key role in championing airline safety reforms through the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.
