U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Da’Ron Lipscomb, a 33-year-old resident of Lancaster, NY, has been sentenced to six months in prison. Lipscomb was convicted of high-speed flight from an immigration checkpoint.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles M. Kruly, who managed the case, detailed the events leading to the conviction. On June 26, 2024, Lipscomb drove his vehicle to the primary inspection booth at the Peace Bridge Port of Entry in Buffalo. After being instructed by a Customs and Border Protection officer to proceed for secondary inspection, Lipscomb instead sped through the port and onto I-190, exceeding speed limits. His actions led to a pursuit by marked CBP vehicles until he lost control and crashed his vehicle.

The investigation was conducted by Customs and Border Protection under Director of Field Operations Rose Brophy’s leadership.
