Rep. Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, has recently addressed pressing issues through social media. Nadler, who has been in Congress since 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly, took to Twitter to discuss matters concerning public safety and wage disparities.
On May 5, 2025, Rep. Nadler expressed concerns over aviation safety following a recent helicopter crash on the Hudson River. He stated that “The tragic helicopter crash last month on the Hudson River wasn’t an isolated incident—it was the latest in a long line of preventable tragedies in the New York metropolitan region’s crowded airspace.” He emphasized that non-essential helicopter flights have posed significant risks to public safety for too long.
The following day, on May 6, 2025, Nadler highlighted issues related to gender pay inequality. He noted that “Moms who work full-time all year long are paid just 74 cents for every $1 paid to dads.” He further explained that when considering all working mothers, this gap widens significantly due to factors such as caregiving responsibilities and difficult career choices.
Rep. Jerry Nadler continues his legislative work from Manhattan where he resides. Born in New York City in 1947, he holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University School of Law.
