Representative Jerry Nadler, a longtime member of Congress for New York’s 12th district, addressed several national and international issues in a series of posts on July 29, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 17:35 UTC, Nadler criticized the Trump administration’s environmental policies. He wrote, “Trump is once again selling out working Americans, this time for Big Oil. Today, the Trump Administration is moving to eliminate the bare minimum federal standards for vehicle pollution—rules that have saved families thousands at the pump and prevented countless cases of asthma,”.
Later that day, at 19:05 UTC, Nadler commented on actions by Republican-led states regarding congressional redistricting. He stated, “Let’s be clear: Republican-led states are blowing up the rules, redrawing congressional maps mid-decade in an attempt to lock in their power and silence voters despite Trump’s disapproval rating rising to new highs. If they’re going to game the system, New York can’t sit on the”.
At 20:45 UTC on July 29, Nadler expressed concern over violence in the West Bank. He tweeted, “I’m deeply disturbed by the murder of Awdah Hathaleen in the village of Umm al-Khair in the West Bank. I am especially troubled that this murder was committed by Yinon Levi, a violent settler extremist, previously sanctioned under the Biden administration. Violence in the West”.
Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district since replacing Ted Weiss in Congress in 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University.
