Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, has taken to social media to express his views on various pressing issues. Nadler, who has been in office since 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly, shared his thoughts on tax legislation, international conflict, and domestic law enforcement actions.

On June 16, 2025, Nadler criticized Republican lawmakers for their approach to tax legislation. He stated that “Republicans could have passed a clean extension of middle-class tax cuts without ripping health coverage from 17 million people or adding trillions to the deficit.” He further accused them of including secretive tax breaks such as “the $1 billion Golub carve-out for their rich.”

Later that day, Nadler addressed the ongoing violence between Israel and Iran by sharing a link to his official statement on the matter. He tweeted “My statement on the ongoing violence between Israel and Iran:” providing followers with access to his detailed perspective.

On June 17, 2025, Nadler voiced concerns about the conduct of federal agents. He claimed that “Masked DHS/ICE agents are being increasingly aggressive.” Highlighting specific incidents involving public figures like Senator Alex Padilla and Brad Lander, he called upon Kristi Noem and Donald Trump to halt what he described as “fascist tactics.”

Jerry Nadler was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. A graduate of Columbia University with a BA and Fordham University with a JD, he continues to be an influential voice in Congress.
