Rep. Jerry Nadler, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, has taken to social media to express his concerns and actions on recent political developments. Known for his active role in legislative matters, Nadler shared his perspectives on issues ranging from internal governmental appointments to healthcare programs for first responders.

On February 20, 2025, Rep. Nadler voiced apprehensions regarding the potential appointment of Patel, suggesting that he might use the Department to target President Trump’s adversaries. He highlighted past warnings about Patel’s intentions in a report by the House Judiciary Committee: “Patel will undoubtedly weaponize the Department to prosecute President Trump’s enemies…”

The following day, February 21, 2025, Nadler announced a collaborative effort with Rep. Dan Goldman and other colleagues urging Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy to overturn staffing reductions at the World Trade Center Health Program initiated during Trump’s administration. The tweet underscored their commitment to supporting 9/11 first responders: “Today, @RepDanGoldman and I led 17 colleagues in demanding @HHSGov Secretary Kennedy reverse Trump’s reckless staffing cuts…”

Later that day, Rep. Nadler reported progress resulting from their advocacy efforts. He confirmed that staff members dismissed from the World Trade Center Health Program would be reinstated by the CDC but criticized the necessity of such interventions due to previous administrative decisions: “Thanks to our pressure throughout the week, I now have confirmation from the CDC that the fired World Trade Center Health Program staff will be returning…”
