Jerry Nadler, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 12th district since 1992, has used his social media platform to voice concerns over recent political and legal developments involving former President Donald Trump and Senate Republicans.
On November 19, 2025, Nadler addressed issues surrounding the Department of Justice under Donald Trump, stating: “Donald Trump’s DOJ didn’t just make a minor error here. Filing an indictment the grand jury never voted on violates Comey’s Constitution rights and makes a mockery of the justice system. Lindsey Halligan’s conduct must be investigated immediately and could warrant disbarment.”
Later that evening, Nadler commented on actions by Senate Republicans related to federal funding: “Last week, Senate Republicans slipped a provision into the funding bill to funnel millions of taxpayer dollars to 8 GOP Senators. Tonight, I’ll proudly vote to repeal it. I refuse to let these Senators pad their pockets while Americans suffer under Trump’s affordability crisis.”
The following day, November 20, Nadler urged members of Congress to respond publicly to remarks attributed to former President Trump: “Every Member of Congress must condemn Trump’s shameful and dangerous rhetoric. Any Republican who lacks the courage to speak out against a President calling for his political opponents to be hanged has no standing to lecture anyone about the state of our politics.”
Nadler has represented New York’s 12th congressional district since succeeding Ted Weiss in 1992 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 until his election to Congress. He was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. His educational background includes degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
