Representative Jerry Nadler, who serves New York’s 12th congressional district, used his social media platform to highlight National Voter Registration Day and advocate for the extension of Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced tax credits in a series of posts this week.
On September 16, Nadler posted about voter participation, writing: “Today is National Voter Registration Day! Your voice matters and registering to vote is the first step in shaping the future of our communities and country. If you haven’t registered yet, now’s the time. Go to https://t.co/Wgud6Vazrh to check your registration. Let’s protect”.
Later that day, he addressed House Speaker Mike Johnson regarding health care policy: “No, @SpeakerJohnson, extending ACA enhanced tax credits isn’t a ‘December policy issue.’ Open enrollment starts Nov 1. If they’re not extended in time, 15 million will see premiums spike and 3 million will lose coverage. American families can’t wait. Congress must include this https://t.co/evUhmKiSaD”.
On September 18, Nadler shared a post containing only a link: “https://t.co/5oTpcemVlA”.
Nadler has represented New York’s 12th district in Congress since 1992 after replacing Ted Weiss. He previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan, Nadler graduated from Columbia University with a BA in 1969 and later earned his JD from Fordham University in 1978.
