Representative Jerry Nadler, a longtime member of Congress representing New York’s 12th district, recently addressed several issues in a series of posts on his social media account, including criticism of RFK Jr.’s leadership at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), reflections on his progressive legislative record, and his decision not to seek re-election.

On September 4, 2025, Nadler called for the resignation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stating: “RFK Jr. has clearly compromised the public health of our nation and must resign. He has turned HHS into a stage for quackery, dismantling science and endangering the country’s health. He has gutted the CDC, silenced experts, and installed political loyalists who have left us”.

Later that day, Nadler reflected on his tenure as a progressive legislator: “As an early member of the CPC and the ‘liberal lion’ of the NY delegation, I have been incredibly proud to lead progressive legislation to improve the lives of all Americans. Time and time again, the CPC is on the right side of history, and it has been an honor to be a caucus”.

On September 5, 2025, Nadler invited followers to view an interview discussing his career and upcoming retirement from Congress: “Watch my interview with @ErrolLouis, where we looked back at my time in Congress, my start in politics, and discussed my decision not to seek re-election next year:”.

Nadler has served in Congress since 1992 after replacing Ted Weiss. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. Born in New York City in 1947 and currently residing in Manhattan at age 75, Nadler holds degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Fordham University (JD).
