Representative Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress from New York’s 12th district, recently addressed several pressing issues via social media. Known for his commitment to advocating for New Yorkers and his dedication to progressive policies, Nadler took to Twitter to express concerns over guidance provided by the Adams Administration regarding immigration enforcement in New York City.

On February 8, 2025, Rep. Nadler tweeted about joining other representatives in urging clarity from the Adams Administration on immigration policies. He stated: “Yesterday, I joined @RepEspaillat @NydiaVelazquez @RepGraceMeng in urging the Adams Administration to address reports of vague and contradictory guidance to NYC agencies on ICE deportations and detainments.”

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Rep. Nadler emphasized the need for clear policy directions that align with New York City’s values. He wrote: “The Administration should provide clear policies that reflect New York City’s values and ensure all New Yorkers—including our immigrant communities—receive dignified service in hospitals, schools, and public facilities.”

On February 9, 2025, Rep. Nadler shifted focus to federal budgetary concerns regarding health research funding under former President Trump’s administration. He tweeted: “Trump’s drastic NIH cuts will set back the promise of life-saving cures and cost American jobs—especially in the 12 mostly red states where universities are the largest employers. Democrats have a better way: fund science, protect jobs, and put progress over politics.”
