Two days later, on May 13, 2025, Nadler expressed satisfaction after meeting with residents of Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village to discuss his congressional work and efforts to counter former President Trump’s policies affecting New Yorkers. He tweeted: “It was great to meet with residents of @ST_PCV_Tenants last night to discuss my work in Congress and how we are fighting back against Trump’s attacks on New Yorkers.”
Later that day, he strongly criticized Ed Martin’s appointment to the federal government due to Martin’s alleged associations with Nazi sympathizers and antisemitic extremists. Nadler stated: “Ed Martin is unfit to serve in the federal government. His ties to Nazi sympathizers and antisemitic extremists make American Jews feel less safe. Trump must rescind this dangerous appointment immediately and never allow Ed Martin to serve in any position in the United States.”
Jerry Nadler was born in New York City in 1947 and currently resides in Manhattan. He holds a BA from Columbia University (1969) and a JD from Fordham University (1978). Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1977 until his election to the House of Representatives.
