Jerry Nadler, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 12th district, has taken to social media to address several pressing issues. Nadler, who succeeded Ted Weiss in 1992 and has been active in politics since his time in the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992, expressed his views on recent political events through a series of tweets.
On July 10, 2025, Nadler criticized Randy Fine’s comments about Rep. Omar, stating that “Randy Fine’s vile, racist attack on Rep. Omar is beneath the dignity of the House.” He emphasized that such remarks are contrary to the values of the American Jewish community and do not meet the standards expected of elected officials.
In another tweet on the same day, Nadler highlighted wage disparities affecting Black women, noting that “Black women are paid just 64 cents for every dollar paid to white men.” He warned that attacks on federal jobs could exacerbate this gap and called for measures to protect these employment opportunities.
Later that day, Nadler addressed actions by Trump’s Department of Education regarding student loans. He pointed out that “Trump’s Department of Education has quietly ordered student loan companies to restart charging interest for nearly 8 million borrowers.” This move is projected to add $27 billion to student debt within a year and coincides with Republican legislation known as “One Big Ugly Bill,” which complicates repayment processes.
As a prominent figure in Congress with decades of experience and an educational background from Columbia University and Fordham University School of Law, Jerry Nadler continues to be an influential voice on national issues.
