How many H-1B petitions made by New York state employers were approved during 2024?

In 2024, 28,487 of the 28,943 H-1B petitions submitted by employers based in New York state were approved, according to data provided by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub.

This represents an approval rate of 98.4%, which is higher than the nationwide average.

The Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry followed, with 8,748 petitions (30.2% of all submissions), receiving 8,614 approvals and an approval rate of 98.5%.

Compared to 2023, New York state saw a 1.7% increase in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.
