Ever Josue Erazo-Lopez, a 30-year-old citizen of Honduras, pleaded guilty to the charge of re-entry of a removed alien in Rochester, New York. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that following his plea before U.S. District Judge Meredith A. Vacca, Erazo-Lopez was sentenced to time served and subsequently transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas M. Testani, Erazo-Lopez did not have legal status in the United States and had previously been removed from the country in July 2019. He was apprehended by the Brighton Police Department on September 27, 2025, for suspected drunk driving.
“This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime,” according to the press release.
The investigation leading to Erazo-Lopez’s plea and sentencing was conducted by U.S. Border Patrol under Acting Chief Patrol Agent James D’Amato.
