Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced on May 11 that it is representing Galata Chemicals, a Praana Group company, in the execution of a definitive purchase agreement to acquire selected plastic additives businesses from Arkema S.A.
The acquisition is expected to expand Praana Group’s specialty chemicals platform and strengthen its capabilities in plastic additives for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and composite applications. The transaction includes Arkema’s global Methyl Methacrylate Butadiene Styrene (MBS) copolymers business, European and Asian acrylic impact modifier and processing aids activities, as well as the Vlissingen production facility in the Netherlands.

These products are used for PVC profiles, pipes, packaging materials, and various composites mainly serving construction and packaging markets.
