Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced on May 14 that its London office advised Jamestown in the acquisition of Lion and Lamb Yard, a mixed-use property located in Farnham, Surrey. The transaction was completed on behalf of a DAX-listed company’s pension fund.
The deal centers around preserving and enhancing Lion and Lamb Yard, which originated as a 16th-century coaching inn along the London-to-Southampton route. Jamestown plans to make improvements to public areas and fill vacant retail units with tenants that complement the existing mix while reflecting the character of Farnham.
“Greenberg Traurig was delighted to act as legal counsel to Jamestown and support its ambition of preserving the historic Lion and Lamb Yard, which has been a gathering place for the local community for nearly 500 years,” said representatives from Greenberg Traurig.
The legal team advising on this transaction included Real Estate Shareholder Danielle L. Martin, Real Estate Finance Shareholder Duncan Hubbard, Tax Shareholder Alex Tostevin, Labor & Employment Shareholder Virginia Allen, Real Estate Litigation Of Counsel Sue Wilson, Construction Law Of Counsel Kate Kirby, Real Estate Senior Associate Clémence Mimbulu, Real Estate Finance Senior Associate Monica Miranda, Tax Senior Associate Nicholas Villalta, Real Estate Litigation Senior Associate Sally Tang, Associate Luke Vaghela, as well as trainee solicitors Maymunah Hussain,Namrata (Nam) Ranpuria, and Brida Gabriella O’Grady.
