The Garden City Environmental Advisory Board will meet on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Village Board Room and via Zoom to address several quality-of-life and environmental topics relevant to the community.

The meeting will include a presentation by Stan Carey, Superintendent of Water & Sewer, who will discuss preparations for the upcoming summer season and emphasize the importance of water conservation. Carey is expected to share practical ways residents can help protect local water resources and support ongoing efforts toward responsible usage. Elizabeth Bailey, a longtime member of the board and resident of Garden City, will briefly review her findings on village water usage over recent years.

In addition to water conservation discussions, residents Stephen Shoemaker and Kyla Portnoy are scheduled to give a short presentation regarding concerns about noise and air pollution within Garden City. Their remarks are set to cover strategies for engaging with local and regional legislators to advocate for solutions that address health, comfort, and overall well-being in the community.

The Environmental Advisory Board encourages all interested residents to attend either in person or virtually. The board said attendees are welcome to listen, ask questions, and learn more about collaborative efforts aimed at preserving both the beauty of Garden City and its quality of life.
