Four members of the Cornell men’s lacrosse team were named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America teams, the organization announced on May 21. Willem Firth earned first-team honors, Jack Cascadden was selected for the second team, and Ryan Goldstein and Brendan Staub received honorable mention recognition.
This marks the second consecutive season that Firth has been named a USILA All-American. The junior from Ottawa finished as a Tewaaraton Award Finalist with career-high numbers: 81 points from 52 goals and 29 assists.
Cascadden also appeared on the USILA All-America list for a second straight year. The senior played in 14 games, achieving a .627 win percentage at faceoff by winning 178 out of his 284 attempts. He led Cornell with 98 ground balls this season.
Goldstein and Staub received honorable mention from USILA for the first time in their careers. Goldstein ranked second on the team with 67 points from 34 goals and 33 assists. Staub was recognized as Cornell’s top defender, recording 18 caused turnovers and collecting 44 ground balls.
All four players have now earned their third All-America designation this season.
