FOIA Request to SUNY Morrisville regarding public university FY 2024 employee salaries on December 5, 2025.

Empire State Today has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to SUNY Morrisville seeking detailed records of employee compensation for the Fiscal Year 2024. The request was sent on December 5, 2025, and aims to gather comprehensive data on the salaries and related information of all individuals employed by the university during this period.

The request specifically asks for records or reports that include several data fields: fiscal year, employee name, gender (if recorded), age or year of birth (if not exempt), date of birth (if not exempt or limited to month/year), employer name, title or position, department, hire date, compensation amount (including base pay and any additional pay), compensation type (such as salary, hourly wage, stipend, bonus), and employment type (full-time or part-time).

The Empire State Today team acknowledges that not all fields may be present in every record but requests the production of all responsive records regardless. In cases where parts of a record are deemed exempt from disclosure, they have asked for non-exempt portions to be released in redacted form rather than withheld entirely.

As a media organization dedicated to reporting news and holding public institutions accountable, Empire State Today has requested a fee waiver for accessing these public records. They emphasize their role in providing transparency and informing the public about governmental affairs.

The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating government actions through FOIA requests. More information about this coalition can be found at https://stopsecrecy.org/about/.

Our team will continue to keep you updated as we gather and report news related to this request and other matters of public interest. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification regarding this matter.
