FOIA Request to SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry regarding Public University FY 2024 Employee Salaries on December 5, 2025.

Empire State Today has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The request seeks comprehensive records of employee compensation for all individuals employed by the university during Fiscal Year 2024. This period is generally defined as spanning from September 2024 through July 2025, though the request allows for adjustments based on the university’s specific fiscal-year definitions.

The requested data includes several specific fields: Fiscal Year, Employee Name, Gender, Age or Year of Birth, Date of Birth, Employer Name, Title or Position, Department, Hire Date, Compensation Amount (including base pay and additional pay), Compensation Type (such as salary or hourly), and Employment Type (full-time or part-time). Empire State Today has indicated that they understand not all fields may be present in every record but have requested that all responsive records be produced regardless.

The media organization has also requested a fee waiver due to its role in gathering and reporting news to the public. They emphasize that access to these public records is crucial for maintaining transparency and holding public institutions accountable. Additionally, Empire State Today is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization focused on investigating governmental agencies using Freedom of Information laws.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
