FOIA Request to SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill regarding Public University FY 2024 Employee Salaries on December 5, 2025.
Empire State Today has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. The request seeks comprehensive records detailing employee compensation for all individuals employed by the university during Fiscal Year 2024. The request was made under the New York Freedom of Information Law, N.Y. Pub. Off. Law sec. 84 et seq., with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format.
The requested records include data fields such as Fiscal Year, Employee Name, Gender, Age or Year of Birth, Date of Birth, Employer Name, Title or Position, Department, Hire Date, Compensation Amount (including base pay and any additional pay), Compensation Type (e.g., salary, hourly, stipend, bonus), and Employment Type (full-time or part-time). Empire State Today acknowledges that not all fields may be present in every record but requests that all responsive records be produced regardless.
Additionally, if any portion of a record is deemed exempt from disclosure, Empire State Today requests that non-exempt portions be released in redacted form rather than withheld entirely. As a media organization dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, Empire State Today has also requested a fee waiver based on its role in disseminating information to the public.
The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through FOIA and Sunshine Laws. More information about this coalition can be found on their website: https://stopsecrecy.org/about/.
