FOIA Request to Cuny York College regarding Public University FY 2024 Employee Salaries on December 5, 2025.

Empire State Today has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Cuny York College seeking detailed records of employee compensation for Fiscal Year 2024. The request was made under the New York Freedom of Information Law, N.Y. Pub. Off. Law sec. 84 et seq., and it seeks to obtain this information in an electronic format.

The request specifically asks for records that include various data fields such as the fiscal year, employee name, gender, age or year of birth, date of birth, employer name, title or position, department, hire date, compensation amount (including base pay and any additional pay), compensation type (e.g., salary, hourly, stipend, bonus), and employment type (full-time or part-time). The request acknowledges that not all fields may be present in every record but requests the production of all responsive records regardless.

Empire State Today has also requested a fee waiver based on its role as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. The organization is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, which assists media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through FOIA requests.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
