Five members of the New York University women’s golf team were named to the Liberty League Women’s Golf All-Conference First Team, according to a May 15 announcement from the league.

The recognition highlights the team’s strong performance during the season and reflects individual and coaching achievements. The honors include both player awards and coaching staff recognition, underscoring NYU’s position in collegiate women’s golf.

Jiayi Fu was named Liberty League Player of the Year after winning the Liberty League Championship and securing top-five finishes at several major tournaments. “She won the Liberty League Championship and recorded top-five finishes at the Jack Leaman Invitational, Stith Invitational and Jekyll Island Collegiate. Fu also captured an individual title at the Tartan Invitational during the fall season,” according to NYU. Inha Jun earned Rookie of the Year honors following her tie for second place at the championship and four additional top-10 finishes throughout her first year. Brad Johnson, head coach, along with assistant coach Daniel Moneymaker, received Coaching Staff of the Year recognition for leading their team through another successful season.

Other First Team honorees include Sonia Hao, who tied for second at the conference championship; Naomi Tan, who finished fourth; and Tiya Chowdary, who placed fifth while also earning UAA Championship MVP honors. Each athlete contributed significant performances across multiple tournaments during both fall and spring play.

NYU concluded its season with a team victory at the Liberty League Championship as part of what it describes as one of its strongest periods in program history.

Looking ahead, NYU will participate in the NCAA Division III Championship scheduled for May 19-22 in Palm Desert, California.
