ElevenLabs, a company specializing in artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction products, will expand its United States operations in New York City. Governor Kathy Hochul announced the move, which is expected to create 230 new jobs and involve a $33 million investment in research and development.

Founded in 2022 by Mati Staniszewski and Piotr Dąbkowski from Warsaw, ElevenLabs began with AI voice models and has since expanded its offerings to include audio models for customer engagement platforms as well as creative tools for generating speech, music, images, and video. The company serves millions of users globally.
The expansion will see ElevenLabs relocate from Spring Street to a larger office at 40 Crosby Street in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood. Of the newly created positions, nearly 100 are projected to be software engineering roles. In addition to creating new jobs, the company will retain 36 existing positions in New York City.
Empire State Development (ESD) will support ElevenLabs with up to $4.4 million through performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits tied to job creation and research investments.
