Eight members of the Columbia baseball team received All-Ivy League honors, the conference announced on May 14. Jack Kail was selected as a unanimous first team choice for the second year in a row. Thomas Santana, Cole Fellows, and Hunter Snyder were named to the second team. Owen Estabrook, Anthony Temesvary, Jimmy Chadwell, and Ben Fishel earned honorable mention recognition.
The recognition highlights individual performances during the regular season and reflects strong contributions from several players across different positions.
Kail, a second baseman from McMurray, Pennsylvania, finished the regular season with a .348 batting average. He recorded 14 doubles and 37 runs batted in over 36 games while striking out only eight times in 155 at-bats. Kail ranked fourth in batting average within the Ivy League and was second in both hits (54) and doubles. In league play specifically, he hit .360 with ten doubles and one home run.
Fellows made his third straight appearance on an All-Ivy squad after hitting .312 with fourteen doubles and eight home runs. His .571 slugging percentage led all Ivy League players this season.
Santana is also now a three-time All-Ivy selection following his senior campaign as part of Columbia’s pitching rotation. He posted five wins against four losses with forty-eight strikeouts over fifty-six innings pitched overall; within conference play he went five-and-two with an earned run average of 3.72.
Snyder received second-team honors after batting .298 across thirty-one appearances while scoring twenty-seven runs; he maintained a .392 on-base percentage for the season.
Other honorees included Estabrook—who started thirty-six games behind the plate—Temesvary at third base this year after moving from catcher; Chadwell who started every game this season; and Fishel who played centerfield.
Columbia is scheduled to begin its participation in the Ivy League Tournament on Friday, May 15 against Yale.
