NYGOP Chair Ed Cox has urged Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Letitia James to withdraw their endorsements of New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. This follows reports alleging that a staff member in Williams’ office was drugged, assaulted, and faced retaliation by his security detail at a government holiday party. It is claimed that Williams was aware of the incident but remained silent as he sought the position of Acting Mayor.

Multiple city agencies are reportedly investigating the matter, with internal emails indicating efforts by Williams’ office to suppress further discussion about the incident.

In a statement, Ed Cox said: “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Letitia James must rescind their endorsements of Jumaane Williams. AOC bills herself as the moral voice of progressives, and Tish James made her name going after workplace misconduct – yet both are standing by a man accused of overseeing a toxic, dangerous and retaliatory office culture. If their principles mean anything, they’ll speak up now.”
