Ed Cox, chair of the New York Republican Party, has issued a statement criticizing Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James for releasing nearly 7,000 undocumented migrants with criminal records onto New York streets in 2025. Cox cited crimes such as homicide, rape, assault, and referenced an individual who had been deported eight times and allegedly attacked a police officer.
“In Kathy Hochul and Letitia James’ New York, nearly 7,000 criminal illegal migrants have been released onto our streets this year. Their collective rap sheet includes homicide, rape, assault, and one machete-wielding maniac deported eight times who attacked a cop.
“Democrats’ sanctuary policies have turned our state into a dumping ground for violent criminals who should have been deported. Governor Elise Stefanik will end the sanctuary madness on day one, restore law and order, and work with federal authorities to deport every single criminal illegal migrant. No more excuses. No more innocent victims. The Hochul-James era of lawlessness ends when Elise Stefanik becomes Governor.”
Kathy Hochul has served as the governor of New York since 2021 and is the state’s first female governor. More information about her background can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Hochul.
