The City of Newburgh announced on June 3 the launch of a campaign to improve city-owned parks and recreational spaces throughout the community. The initiative, called the City of Newburgh Park Clean Up Blitz, aims to enhance the experience for both residents and visitors.

According to the announcement, the City Manager’s Office has directed a collaborative effort that includes the Department of Public Works, Water Department, and Recreation Department. These departments will work together to prepare local parks for increased summer use.

The preparation efforts will focus on landscaping, beautification projects, litter removal, as well as maintenance or repair of park furnishings, equipment, and facilities. The city said it values resident feedback regarding park conditions to help inform ongoing maintenance and improvement plans.

Residents and visitors are encouraged by city officials to make use of Newburgh’s parks and recreational areas during the summer months.
