The City of Newburgh announced on May 11 that its Assessor’s Office at 83 Broadway will be closed starting at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, due to internal staff development. The office is scheduled to reopen and resume regular business hours the following business day.
The temporary closure is intended to allow staff members time for professional development without interrupting access to key services. Residents who need property information or assessment records during the closure can use the City of Newburgh Property Record Online System (PROS), which remains accessible online.
According to the city, PROS and other Assessor’s Office resources are available at https://www.cityofnewburgh-ny.gov/157/Assessor. These online tools enable users to review and search real property data while in-person services are unavailable.
In a statement, officials said, “The City of Newburgh appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as we continue to support staff development while maintaining access to essential services.”
This brief closure highlights efforts by local government offices to balance ongoing employee training with uninterrupted service delivery through digital platforms.
